MONITOR 3,000-GPH REVERSE OSMOSIS
WATER PURIFICATION UNIT (ROWPU) OPERATIONS
This lesson discusses monitoring water purification operations by reviewing the requirements for a water mission, enforcing a
maintenance program and coordinating DS/GS maintenance support, providing expendable supplies, inspecting water point
operations, troubleshooting, and monitoring water quality. It also discusses the requirements for NBC operations, operating
the 3,000-GPH ROWPU using the OISS, and identifying environmental impediments and viable resolutions.
Terminal Learning Objective:
You will be monitoring a 3,000-GPH ROWPU.
You are the NCOIC of an S&S company. Your mission is to provide water support for a light
infantry division of 12,000 personnel.
You will monitor water purification operations of the 3,000-GPH ROWPU by establishing the
mission water requirements; enforcing a maintenance program; coordinating with DS/GS
maintenance support; providing supplies; inspecting operations; troubleshooting; monitoring water
quality; operating a 3,000-GPH ROWPU for NBC operations; and using the OISS; as well as
identifying environmental impediments and viable resolutions.
