maintain a separate form for each type of ration (A, B, and T). Ensure that
separate forms are used to record breakfast, lunch, or dinner entrees
(T Ration only). Make sure that a separate form is used for each type of
individually packaged ration (MRE and ration, cold weather [RCW]) that the
field kitchen receives.
b. Entries for Rations Issued for Preparation. When you issue rations
for preparation, have personnel post them to the DA Form 5914-R.
Base
accountability for T Rations on the number of the main entree servings per
T-Ration pan. Base the posting and accounting of A Rations on the number of
the main entrees that you receive from the supply activity.
c. Issues for Airlift. The FSS posts on the DA Form 5914-R issues by
the kitchen for airlift. He must list the aircraft tail number and the date
of the issue.
d. A and B Rations and MRE Turn-Ins.
Personnel must turn in all
unopened modules, boxes of MREs, and loose A-Ration (semiperishable) and B-
Ration items through supply distribution channels to the supporting TISA.
Ensure that they use the turn-in schedule that the supporting TISA
establishes. Effect the turn-in on a DA Form 3294-R. When the rations are
turned in, have personnel post the main entree or the meal amount to the
unit's DA Form 5914-R.
e. Entries of Items Discarded. Personnel must discard T-Ration items
When the FSS determines that items are unfit for
consumption, ensure that personnel discard these items.
Ensure that
personnel enter the number of the discarded items on the DA Form 5914-R.
f. MRE and Ration Transfers.
At the end of field training, transfer
all loose MRE meals and residual T-Ration pans to another field kitchen or
to the supporting garrison dining facility. When a lack of transportation
precludes the return to the home station, contact the major Army command
(MACOM) for disposition instructions. Apply the procedures discussed in the
following subparagraphs when you transfer loose residual items.
(1) Loose Leftover T Rations. Plan for personnel to transfer loose
leftover T-Ration pans to another field kitchen.
Transfer only those T-
Ration pans that have never been heated or have been heated only once. They
can transfer T Rations to the home station garrison dining facility account.
Transfer T Rations at no cost to the dining facility. List pans by the type
of the menu item (vegetable, starch, dessert).
(2) Loose Individual MREs.
Plan for personnel to transfer loose
individual MREs to another field kitchen, or they may transfer them to the
home station dining facility account.
