Ensure that the appropriate personnel adhere to the following procedures
when they make one-line entries in the garrison:
The designated individual who is in charge of the group or the
individual who picks up the ration makes the one-line entry.
He enters the number of the diners for whom he is accounting.
He also enters the class number or the group identity in the signature
He then enters his name and his grade in the meal card number block.
Figure 2-1 shows a one-line entry on line 4 of the sample DA Form
3032. The entry shows that Gene Gunn E9, has signed for rations.
Ensure that the headcounter physically counts the number of persons
Also ensure that the headcounter confirms the entry that the person in
charge of the group annotates,
During their training cycle, basic trainees are authorized use the last four
digits of their SSNs in lieu of a meal card number. Soldiers receiving AIT,
including One Station Unit Training (OSUT) students, also are authorized to use
the last four digits of their SSNs. Ensure that the headcounter enters the last four
digits of the soldiers' SSNs. He enters these digits in the meal card number
column (DA Form 3032) as he take them from the soldiers' ID cards (DD Forms
2A). Ensure that the headcounter collects the soldiers' signatures.
Also make sure that the FOS completes the heading (unless he is exempt from
doing so) as follows:
1. Meal. Enter an "X" in the appropriate box.
2. Service Component. Enter "USA," "ARNG," or "USAR" as appropriate.
3. Diner Category. Enter the appropriate diner category. Additionally, enter
either "BCT" or "AIT" on the "Other" line. The intent of this procedure is to
require training soldiers to sign one set of forms and other personnel who
require support to sign a different set of forms.
