MAST System. The need to quickly establish operations with necessary provisions and
equipment is crucial to successful outcomes of conflict or complex operations other than war. The PM
FP has developed a system with the ability to maintain, acquire, sustain, and train (MAST) to improve
the soldier's warfighting capabilities, performance and quality of life.
a. The MAST is a Y2K compliance database providing GUI that can support the functional
areas of maintenance, accountability, sustainment, and operations and each type of user (PM, logistics
specialist, camp manages, platoon sergeants, and platoon leaders). It consists of networked desktop and
laptop computers that will deploy with the FP platoon. The MAST system will have the following
capabilities:
(1) Allow the FP GUI module template to lay out, set up, maintain, and sustain module
operations. The user has the capability to:
(a) Modify the site layout
(b) Model the physical site plan and location of the module based on terrain, space, and
physical constraints of the module
(c) Overlay imagery and maps on the module site plan and location.
