OVERVIEW
LESSON DESCRIPTION:
This lesson provides soldiers in the Quartermaster Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course
(BNCOC) with information on the meaning of computer literacy.
TERMINAL LEARNING OBJECTIVE:
ACTION:
Students will describe what it means to be computer literate, the advantages of
computers, the components of a computer, the software used with AFMIS, and
the AFMIS subsystems.
CONDITION:
In a self-study environment.
STANDARD:
To 70 percent accuracy when evaluated.

INTRODUCTION
Computers are the future of information storage, retrieval, and exchange, so it is in your best
interest to develop computer literacy. In this way you will become better prepared to live in the
Information Age of the 20th and 21st centuries. We will begin this lesson with a working
definition of computer literacy.
