Laboratory Ovens

In general, ovens must be placed in a level
position. It is suggested that a ground wire be attached to the
oven to help dissipate any built up electrical charge.
Before
attaching any oven to an electric source, you must verify that
the proper voltage setting is selected matching that of the
source. Ovens are supplied with thermostats that regulate oven
temperature; most ovens also come with an aperture through which
a thermometer can be inserted for comparative temperature
readings.
They are usually designed to operate off 110 or 220
volts AC; some can even function on DC voltage. Ensure that all
parts are properly installed and working according to the
manufacturers' specifications.
