OVERVIEW
LESSON DESCRIPTION:
This lesson was designed to provide soldiers in the Food Service Specialist Basic
Noncommissioned Officer Course (BNCOC) with information on reporting
unsatisfactory subsistence.
TERMINAL LEARNING OBJECTIVE:
ACTION:
Students will be introduced to the principles of the Food Service Data
Feedback Program, describe the purpose of the Subsistence Item
Survey, and prepare a DD Form 1608 (Unsatisfactory Material Report
(Subsistence)).
CONDITION:
In a self-study environment.
STANDARD:
To demonstrate competency of this task, you must achieve a minimum
score of 70 percent on the subcourse examination.

INTRODUCTION
This program is designed to check the fitness, desirability, and quality of troop issue food
items at installations. It requires coordination among food service, veterinary, and troop
