OVERVIEW
As a petroleum laboratory NCO directing quality surveillance operations, it is important to be able to: identify the
quality surveillance measures used when performing pre-loading, during-loading, and after-loading inspections of
petroleum barges and tankers; evaluate discharge inspection of Free-On-Board (FOB) destination shipments by
petroleum barges and tankers; identify quality surveillance procedures on pipeline movement; inspect tank cars
and tank trucks prior to loading; monitor loading procedures of tank cars and tank trucks; inspect documents
covering tank car and tank truck loading; and perform quality surveillance procedures on pipeline movement.
Lesson Description:
During this block of instruction, we will discuss identifying the quality surveillance measures used when
performing pre-loading, during-loading, and after-loading inspections of petroleum barges and tankers;
evaluating discharge inspection of Free-On-Board (FOB) destination shipments by petroleum barges and
tankers; identifying quality surveillance procedures on pipeline movement; inspecting tank cars and tank trucks
prior to loading; monitoring loading procedures of tank cars and tank trucks; inspecting documents covering tank
car and tank truck loading; and performing quality surveillance procedures on pipeline movement.
