Figure 4-23. DFO Files list (continued).
9. Daily Procedures. There are no DFO subsystem processes that must be run on a daily basis.
The daily processing schedule for a dining facility is set up by the food service sergeant or
contract manager. Submission dates for shopping lists are based on the TISA Issue Frequency
Schedule. Appendix D of the AFMIS End User Manual contains a sample processing schedule
for dining facilities. You can use it to set up a schedule for your dining facility.
10. The Appendices of the Manual. The appendices of the AFMIS End User Manual contain
such useful operator information as abbreviations and acronyms, system error message
information, outputs, sample SOPs, continuity of operation procedures, problem reporting
procedures, and equipment usage and maintenance.
11. Summary. In this lesson you learned that AFMIS is an automated food management
information and Class I supply system software package. How it is designed to improve
subsistence accountability, automate headcount procedures, and the enhance efficiency of Army
Food Program resources. You learned about the major components and three major subsystems
of AFMIS. This information will greatly enhance your ability and involvement in the
management of a dining facility.
