(2) Unpack, inventory, and inspect the storage tank and all storage assembly component.
(3) Replace any defective parts with ones from the spare parts crate.
(4) Lay out and set up the storage tanks and assembly components.
b. Ensure the distribution points are set up in conjunction with the storage assemblies.
(1) Prepare the site for set up.
(2) Unpack, inventory, and inspect the 125-GPM pump, the hypochlorination unit, and all
distribution point components.
(3) Replace any defective parts with ones from the spare parts crate.
(4) Lay out and set up the distribution point components.
9. Monitor the following procedures to ensure your subordinates set up lead and booster pumping stations.
Soldiers must :
a. Prepare the pumping station sites for setup.
b. Unpack, inventory, and inspect the 600-GPM pump and all pumping station components.
c. Replace any defective parts with ones from the spare parts crate.
d. Lay out and set up the lead and booster pumping stations and pumping station components.
e. Connect the lead station to the source and the booster pumping stations to the hose line as it is flaked
out to the pumping station installation sites.
10. Monitor the following general operating procedures:
a. When packing the hose line. monitor suction and discharge pressures on the pumps. If pressure is
too low or too high, immediately shut down pumps. Notify supervisors on the hose-laying crews and operators
at other pumping stations who are packing the hose line. Cease operation until the problem is corrected.
b. As hose-laying crews connect major components, prepare the TWDS for operation by packing the
hose line. As soon as the lead pumping station and first boost pumping station are installed and connected to
the hose line. perform the following steps:
(1) Turn the petcock on the boost pump discharge elbow to the left until it is fully opened. This will
allow air trapped inside the hose line to be vented as the water column moves forward.
(2) Notify operators on the lead pumping station to begin pump operation.
(3) Observe the hose line for visual indications of approaching water. Listen for air escaping from
the petcock.
