As a supervisor of a reconnaissance
team, the following sections of DA
Form 1712-R require your close
scrutiny: The "Quality-Quantity"
blocks which record the type of
source, TDS, temperature, turbidity,
pH test, and quantity (estimate of
total and the volume or flow rate);
"Site Conditions" blocks which
record site conditions such as
security (to include cover and
concealment avenues of approach,
and fields of fire); soil type and
drainage; terrain; bivouac potential;
and road nets (to include distance
from MSR). You should always
compare the test results to the
minimum requirements for source
water in TB MED 577.

PART B - DAILY WATER PRODUCTION LOG - ROWPU

DA Form 1713-R, Part I. The Daily Water Production Log - ROWPU (Figure 3-2 (front)) is
important because the information from these forms is used to schedule resupply of POL, chemicals, and
maintenance. For this reason, data entered on the production log should be complete and accurate. The
daily water production log can tell you the quality of the raw water source by showing the amount of
chemicals needed to make it potable. This will help in the future if you have to use the same or a similar
water point. As a supervisor of a water purification site, the following sections of DA Form 1713-R
require your close scrutiny:
