there are no kinks in the hoses, and hoses are labeled.
The water
distribution system setup does not have to be finished until the ROWPU is
started and water is ready to be produced.
9.
Your operation is now at the point where all equipment is positioned,
assembled, and ready for operation.
You are ready to perform PMCS, the
initial adjustments, checks, and self-tests.
PART B - OPERATION OF THE 3,000-GPH ROWPU
1.
PMCS must be performed on the equipment before start-up procedures.
PMCS is part of the water section supervisor's maintenance program and it is
your responsibility to take care of the equipment.
You must have your
operators perform the before-, during-, and after-operation PMCS. Operators
must have the appropriate TMs and DA Form 2404. After completion of PMCS,
review the DA Forms 2404 for any discrepancies and report to your supervisor
any shortcomings that can not be handled at your level.
2.
You and your crew perform the following "After Movement and Assembly
Adjustments and Checks":
a. Check to ensure that all hose couplings are tight, electrical cable
connectors are locked, ground rod is driven in as described, and ground
cables are tight at both ends.
b. Determine the turbidity, color, and the amount of dissolved solids
in the raw water.
c. Check that cartridge filters are installed in cartridge vessel.
d. All the checks and adjustments are complete and the main control
panel is set. The test results are as follows: turbidity - 7 NTU, color - 9
units, TDS - 175 ppm, temperature - 70 F.
3.
The operator should set
all controls and recheck the fuel level on the generator before starting.
Ensure that the operator does not crank the engine more than 15 seconds at a
time and allows at least 15 seconds to elapse between cranking.
The AC
voltmeter should indicate 208/416 volts if the amps-volts selector switch is
set at L1-L2, L2-L3, or L1-L3.
Position the voltage adjust rheostat as
required to obtain proper voltage output (440 VAC).
Adjust the manual
to warm up to normal operating temperature (100 to 150 degrees F) with no
load applied. Do not
