The unit maintains its copy of the statement on file with the DD Form
Active Army,
1544 book. The unit audit or review port reflects that the DD Form 1544
continued
books were revalidated and processed correctly.
RC units revalidate all outstanding books annually.
Sometimes, there is a change of station for a unit that operates an appropriated

fund dining facility. When this occurs, ensure that appropriate personnel return
all DD Forms 1544 to the installation control officer. Make sure that these
personnel return all DD Forms 1544 complete with all used and unused sheets.
The control officer must give a clearance prior to the unit's departure.
Where a consolidated headquarters issues books, the designated control officer

exercises responsibility for obtaining the DD Form 1544. He obtains the DD
headquarters
Form 1544 from the installation control officer and maintains a record of all
books received. The consolidated headquarters then issues the books to the FSO
as full books or on a sheet basis.
When a consolidated headquarters issues the book as a full book, it uses the

Transfer and Control Receipt No. 2. The following procedures are used to issue a
full book:
