system. Never allow soldiers to use hoses on the product water system that
were
previously
used
for
raw
water
unless the
hoses
have
been
decontaminated.
Check that the soldiers are wearing apron, gloves, and eye protection and
free
water
(raw
or
brine
water)
when
mixing
polymer,
sodium
hexametaphosphate, and citric acid to prevent damage to RO elements.
One
mixing paddle should be designated for mixing chlorine only.
Ensure
soldiers mix half of 107 milliliters (ml) of polymer with 3 gallons of water
for two minutes. Check that the soldier pours the batch into the polymer-
marked container and connects the container to the chemical feed pump blue
tubes.
Ensure the soldiers mix 0.2 pound of chlorine with 3 gallons of
water for two minutes.
Check that the soldiers pour the batch into the
chlorine-marked container and connects the container to the chemical feed
pump red tubes.
Ensure the soldiers mix 0.1 pound of sodium
hexametaphosphate with 3 gallons of water for two minutes. Check that the
soldiers pour the batch into the sodium hexametaphosphate-container and
connects the container to the chemical feed pump green tubes.
The citric
the citric acid feed is performed.
PART C - DISMANTLE THE 600-GPH ROWPU
You must ensure the soldiers properly move the equipment.
The correct
shutdown procedure must be used to ensure mission readiness. Check that the
soldiers use proper lift and carry techniques during equipment movement.
Supervise the soldiers on the following procedures for dismantling:
- Open all drains and sample valves on ROWPUs, pumps and tanks.
Jog
pumps to drain water from the pump housings.
- Empty and rinse all chemical containers.
Flush chemical feed pumps
with clean water.

Repack all components as recommended in the technical manual.
